Occupation | Robert like his grandfather, father and brother David is a natural born salesman though his other talents diverge from his family. Robert is very much into the theatrical world currently working in Show Support and Lighting. He is a natural actor and excellent amateur musician (which he inherits from the Payne family, definitely not from my side).
Residence | Born and bred in Canberra Rob has lived here all his life with small side excursions to Brisbane and Sydney.

Notes | Robert has been active in the theatre, both on the acting and lighting side, since he was about 11 years old. His really enjoyed this during his teenage years and was involved in many productions with Canberra Youth Theatre. However, parents being parents, he was encouraged to cut his hair and get a real job as maturity "threatened". So he did (but I still have a lovely long ringlet from that era). In Rob's words, he became conventional, wondered around for 10 years wondering what he was doing and is now back where he belongs in the theatre. And very happy about it too. Again because Rob is my son I have to admit, under pressure, to bias about my children. For lots of reasons I truly admire each of my sons and that has nothing to do with bias. |
